COKE AND PEPSI LINKED TO CANCER
California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment have found higher than allowed amounts of a caramel-coloring chemical in coke and pepsi which can cause cancer in humans.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) petitioned the government to ban this kind of caramel coloring and it wanted the cosmetic additive renamed “chemically modified caramel coloring” or “ammonia-sulfite process caramel coloring.”
Since this study has been done, coke and pepsi have reduced the amount of caramel coloring in their drinks but remember they still exist.
Our team of doctors have never been a fan of soda pop in general because of the sugar content but these studies are showing that these soft drinks can be even worse than just causing obesity.
Our doctors always suggest to stay away from soda pop and always choose water as the alternative.
